The ANT/NCA MNT Bundle of courses incorporates three separate Certifications: The Advanced Nail Technician (ANT®), the Safe Salon® Concepts Certification and the NCA Medical Nail Tech (MNT®). There are three sets of modules which should be taken in the following order:
- Advanced Nail Technician – ANT Certification earned upon passing exam and the Safe Salon Certification – Module 7 of the ANT – Certification earned upon passing an exam
- NCA Medical Nail Tech – MNT Certification earned upon passing an exam AND completing the Internship
- Nailcare Academy Internship Module – Internship information you will need
***The NCA MNT requires completion of the ANT Program as a prerequisite, followed by the NCA Internship Program to achieve Certification ***
The ANT/NCA MNT Bundle begins with the Advanced Nail Technician (ANT) which provides certification in providing aseptic cosmetic nail services for your clients who have special health concerns. Those with diabetes, peripheral artery disease, heart conditions and other chronic illnesses cannot risk pedicures with less than excellent infection control. You will learn to implement obvious aseptic techniques which will immediately identify to your clients that you are far beyond the typical “nail shop.” Upon receiving your certification, you will have the knowledge and tools you need to provide safe, careful services for all your clients.
Also included in the ANT program, the Safe Salon Concepts module sums up the core learning in the ANT Program and provides an additional Certificate for you as a “Safe Salon Professional” as well as for your marketing efforts. A salon or spa with every nail technician certified as an ANT can market their Safe Salon Certification.
The NCA Medical Nail Tech Certification is designed specifically to train you to work successfully in a medical setting – whether a physician’s office, medical clinic, long-term care facility as well as many other venues. Your training as a nail technician in providing cosmetic services or Routine Foot Care for clients will be augmented to allow you to safely work with those who have special health considerations.
This Certification will uniquely qualify you to provide cosmetic services that a medical or podiatric assistant cannot: after performing Routine Foot Care, you will be able to finish the patient’s nails in a pedicure. You will also be able to perform toenail enhancement services for those with healthy, yet damaged nail plates.
The NCA MNT incorporates a mandatory 40-hour Internship program, where you will seek interning in a medical setting to support your learning and skills. The Program instructs you in how to find a local internship that will not only provide you knowledge in the treatment of your clients in a referred setting but also will benefit a referral program to your salon from medical professionals. We also recommend this portion of the program to help you determine if this is a career you will choose.
The Certificate for the NCA MNT is not awarded until the Internship is completed.

I found the ANT/MNT very thorough. I have taken the NASP Master Pedicurist training, and this taught me a great deal of things I didn't get there. Very practical and pertinent information.
Rita your earnest application to learning is so impressive. Gold star!
This was a very extensive and informative course, for years I've always wondered why nail techs weren't challenged enough when it came to the safety and well-being rather than just focus on the aesthetics and how fast can one perform a service.
I am glad this course exists because this just proves how important our role can be when it comes to caring for those with limited function.
You are so right, Kimberly - nail techs can be so much more to their clients.
I feel more information should be aimed at starting your own practice as a medical nail technician and the relationship with a podiatrist. I love Nailcare Academy!
Lakethia, we love you, too! You might be ready for the next step--take our course on Cosmetic Foot Care - there is a lot of information about the start up of a new foot care-centric practice that is exactly what you need!
I will share this program with anyone I know! Karen and Janet actually care about you succeeding in your new journey of becoming an ANT, MNT, or FNT. I learned a lot that is not taught in nail school and I definitely learned a lot I definitely will apply. What I have learned will be offered to all my clients to keep them healthy while providing services.
Talia, we so appreciate your comments--this is what keeps Janet and I motivated!Very best wishes! Karen
Janet, I would call you but I am too busy changing lives! Improvement in their foot and nail care does that for so many people! Your course set me apart from the other technicians in West Palm, for certain, and since I am so busy, we are raising my prices. I love my MNT pin and wear it every day, but I LOST it! I know I can replace it, but still, until then, UGG. How do I get a new one? Samantha Levine, MNT, Kaffee's Garden Spa, West Palm Beach, FL.
Samantha, thank you so much for your praise! We appreciate you so much! It was our pleasure to send you a replacement MNT pin!
